Sandy  Pugh II got his introduction to art all the way back in 1994 reading old comics with his uncle.

​

As the years went by, He honed his skills writing and drawing comics with his friends. He eventually went to college and studied art, majoring in printmaking.

​

Inspired by the likes of Geoff Darrow, Steve Skroce, Eduardo Risso, John Paul Leon, Bryan Stelfreeze, Sergio Toppi, Hermann and Michetz,  Sandy has become a versatile artist that can mix aspects of his influences art to make his own style.

​

Sandy's art focuses on and is inspired by popular culture, doing mostly fan art of various Kaiju movies, Horror movies, Anime and Comic book content.

 

Sandy correlates his art with hip hop as alot of his work habits are inspired by various hip hop producers such as J.Dilla (RIP), RZA, DJ Premier and other sample heavy producers. He attacks every piece like a producer and views all of those processes as repurposed art.

 

 He works with different mediums preferring pencil, paper and ink but also is well versed in digital, woodcut relief printing and silkscreen

In his spare time he focuses on writing for comics that he plans on publishing, making prints and various side projects with and for his artist friends and clients.

​

Sandy is currently a freelance artist and designer that teaches art for 6th graders and 8th graders.
